About

Anna Marilice is a
portmanteau of the female names in my family, representing the flow of art in our blood. Our female members of the family all show the same artistic manifestation in different shapes and forms. We are connected and amplified in our ways, which makes all of this in one name so powerful.

My childhood was spent mostly in nature and museums. We used to call the MSK in Gent our second home, studying artworks and making paintings in the cellar of the museum. In all freedom we were able to express and discover ourselves. A gift I rarely ever found anywhere else.

Later in life I became interested in fashion, like a teenager might do, I started making my own jewelry by the age of 14. Back then it was iron wires and my monther's vintage handmade pearls from her own childhood. But it wasn't until my 25th birthday that I became a trained goldsmith in the halls of Tour&Taxis in Brussels. In between those years I was studying bio-engineering, had a lot of mathematical insight and love for nature/biology. Which is still a part of me and now visible in my designs.

I see something beautiful in nature with my mystical eye for the arts, connected to my nieces, aunts, mother and grandmother and then filter it through my mathematical brain. This is how my designs are brought to life. As a finishing touch I bless my pieces with a piece of selfwritten poetry stemming from my own life experience.

And that's an Anna Marilice piece.
